Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole Simultaneously Drop Separate Freestyles, Rapping Over Eachother’s Songs: Black Friday

Screen Shot 2015-11-29 at 1.49.42 amKendrick Lamar has gained a lot of respect over the years. Particularly with the releases of his last two albums, Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City and of course the most recent To Pimp A Butterfly, Lamar has become one of the biggest names in the world.

J. Cole is another name you’ve probably heard. Another artist killing it in the hip hop game. His most recent album; 2014 Forrest Hills Drive was the first hip-hop album with no collaborations since 1989 to reach platinum certified status.

The two have been teasing a joint project together, and today the world received a slight taste of that, and hope that there is more to come.

Each tweeted a link to a song from the other. Kendrick raps over Cole’s “A Tale of 2 Citiez” off 2014 Forest Hills Drive, while Cole goes in over Kendrick’s “Alright” off To Pimp a Butterfly. Both songs are called Black Friday. Listen to both below.
